Fornication –

Yea, that’s right, fornication. That was the topic of the sermon this morning. Not how to do it or anything like that but, more on why it was chosen as one of two laws out of over 600 to be required of the gentiles that decided to become followers Jesus Christ in the day.

I was fine with listening to why this is important. What made this a concern. The body it seems is important in the Christian faith. The body is a temple, treat it as such. I get it. I recall asking what the tattoo issue would due when I die and am judged, no reply.

What I could not get my head around, what stuck in the craw was all the times the emphasis on ‘heterosexual’ came up. I am so torn on this issue, it is the one that shakes my ability to 100% with full abandon believe, support and worship. If someone can tell me the day and time that they ‘chose’ to be a heterosexual, made a choice, I will listen a bit more to your argument.

What will you do when the physiology, science, proved that there is no choice to attractions? That the already definitive physical studies are proven with out a doubt that sexual orientation is not optional. Not a decision based on anything but, a function of the body to live and experience and ‘be’ as it is, feels natural for it.

Sure, there are a lot of promiscuous folks out there – straight, homo-sexual, bi-sexual – and that is a choice. Just as it is a choice to be celibate or to be faithful to a single person all your life long.

No, I don’t speak or read Greek, I have not read those bibles, have not spent years in school, or studying on my own. I just “feel” that there is something else here. Something missing. Fornication, the act of sexual contact during worship of some kind, some faith. OK – be committed one and one only. Live as one. I missed the heterosexual part. Whenever I see the same sex text it is in  response to being promiscuous, sex for sex sake, with anyone, gender not important. I am sure I am wrong and that all the biblical scholars that read this will correct me (hehe, that was hard with a straight face) and show me to the passage I need to read.

As I am sure when they do I will be really upset until I find that it too has an open end. (no pun you naughty people)

OK  – I needed to say something – I suppose this is my GTHT for today – “There are women out there I would not hit with your car, and someone loves them and is turned on by them” I think you can sort the rest out on your own.

Until tomorrow – with ice cream in the fridge screaming out my name – Ant-Knee
